What is ORIPA? †

ORIPA is an editor for designing crease patterns of Origami works. The above images are screen shots of ORIPA designing a pattern of Crane.

ORIPA is developed by Jun Mitani.

Features †

• Since ORIPA is written with JAVA, it runs on multi OS (i.e. Windows, Mac and Linux).
• ORIPA is FREE for downloading.
• ORIPA estimates folded figure from a crease pattern (may be wrong in view of overlapping order of layers, this function is still under construction).

Requirements †

ORIPA is written with Java. The following environments are required.

• JRE1.5
• Java3D API

Samples

How to run †

• Windows: Double click the downloaded oripa000.jar (000 corresponds the version number)
• MacOSX10.4: enter the following line in terminal.

　/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5/Commands/java -jar oripa000.jar
